Even people, who are temporarily pessimistic, can increase their risks of dying of heart disease and other health problems. It has been common knowledge that depression will bring on all kinds of health problems. Now we know attitude plays a part in this as well. With a positive person when there is stress they look to the remedy, so the hormones that are released during stress that can negatively effect health are limited.

The Wake Forest University School of Medicine’s study has shown that combining exercise with diet, that the fat cells are actually reduced in the stomach area, when weight loss is combined with exercise. To get that flatter stomach that most women and men strive for, besides exercising, stress must also be reduced. Cortisol is a brain chemical that is released during stress. It triggers the appetite. The calories consumed during stress tend to be stored as fat in the stomach area.
